World Health Organization
Antimicrobial Resistance Division (AMR)

CONTEXT

The Antimicrobial Resistance Division at the World Health Organization releases regular reports highlighting updates in fungal and bacterial diseases. Using provided visual references and following WHO’s established brand guidelines, graphic devices were developed to differentiate the topics of diagnostics and treatment development, which were relevant to both pathogen types.

The template was created upon WHO’s rebrand to standardise the design of published reports across all departments. It was required for the template to meet brand and accessibility guidelines, as well as offer flexibility for each report’s identity and structure, across the 6 UN languages.

Developing this template has not only simplified the production process but aided the internal validation process, saving the client time and budget.

Four report covers as a series from the WHO Antimicrobial Resistance Division, two on bacterial and two on fungal topics, using distinct colours and graphics to differentiate diagnostics and development while following WHO brand guidelines.
Photographic visual reference of a petri dish used within the antimicrobial research industry, with its circular form influencing the graphic style for the WHO Antimicrobial Resistance Division report series.
Photographic visual reference of a blood sample test in a petri dish, with its dotted texture influencing the visual language for the WHO Antimicrobial Resistance Division report series.
Visual reference of a sunburst chart categorising the risks of different fungi, which informed one of the cover graphics for the WHO Antimicrobial Resistance Division report series.
Photographic visual reference showing the results of several Etests, with the spiral patterns influencing the visual language for the WHO Antimicrobial Resistance Division report series.
Six report spreads from the WHO Antimicrobial Resistance Division series, showing chapter dividers, charts, maps, text-heavy pages, watermarks, and box styles, all designed within the report’s visual identity while following WHO brand guidelines.
